Enhancing classroom instruction through blogs can be a good communication tool from teacher to student as well as student to student. I work in a school environment and I witness a lot of students isolate themselves from expressing their ideas verbally on a subject. A blog can allow the less out spoken student/person express their ideas. This will help them become more fluent in their Language Arts skills. They will have the opportunity to express ideas in writing and read information that interests them.
This is a new experience for me as well, but I already like it better than using the discussion board on blackboard. I also agree that blogs are good for students who are less out spoken because it makes them feel more comfortable expressing themselves. Blogs are also a more exciting way for students to practice their writing skills.
